What to Expect Following Surgery

·         Patients who have recently undergone laparoscopic surgery should expect to:

·         Engage only in light activity at home, and to avoid heavy lifting for a specified period of time.

·         Adhere to any/all diet modifications/restrictions recommended by the physician—which typically involve beginning with liquids and moving gradually into solid foods.

·         Return to normal activities—such as driving, showering, lifting, working, walking upstairs, etc.—after a short period of time (though this time period varies depending on the procedure performed).

·         Follow up with their physician if necessary.

Dr. Latzko is a patient-focused physician who takes care to deliver the treatments that work best for each patient’s unique health and situation.
